There’s a lot happening in Las Vegas, as Mayor Carolyn Goodman delivered her annual report card, Thursday evening at Las Vegas City Hall.
“Keeping in mind that our downtown hotels, for another 4th year in a row, the highest percentage gaming increase statewide,” Goodman told the audience.
Those are good numbers, proof more visitors are heading north of the Strip, which is why the mayor rattled off six downtown area resorts that are spending tens of millions to upgrade, with new rooms and new towers.
One reason, the mayor says: fixing up streets like Main, which is drawing thousands to the Arts District.
At City Hall was State Senator Mo Denis who represents Downtown. He agrees all local governments need to pitch in.
“It’s an issue that we need to work on and we need to resolve and it’s gotta be something that we work on together because if one does it then they just move somewhere else,” Denis says.
